Today I started my new position at the CSIRO Discovery Centre! Wow! What fun. I get paid to spend time getting children excited about science.
The two schools that got the Lu treatment today were Belarang Primary and Chester Hill Primary - 98 students all up. No horrors, no tantrums and it was quite fun. At the end of the second school they had asked to see the stick insects. I got to be a tree while a stick insect rather similar to this one climbed up me. It's going to be fun working there!
So this marks the transition away from Research Student-ship to exciting science communicator-ship.
So now it's all ups ups and more ups!

Oh Yes! Oh Yes! what superb acting ability to be able to fool a stick insect into thinking you are a tree. Must be the genetic breeding, o thou daughter of a forester.
bet you cannot gues who did the last comment!!!!
Ruth can relate to being a tree...also the daughter of a forester. The grandaughter on the other hand climbed a tree and procured 2 native pigeon eggs.
