Despite having lost to Finland yesterday we managed to go into the top 20 teams in the tournament (we beat ebisu who beat finland who beat us, but we lost by the correct margin to go up! - hooray for maths and tourneys).
Today we played two matches with absolutely no pressure! How fun!
First up was Team Fisher Price (tfp) a Canadian team. At one point, during a time out, the tfp captain was heard to say "They keep getting sweet, f-ing hucks out to their women - shut it down". Needless to say the sheilas shined in that game. We played well, we ran long, we threw goals, we caught goals, we were just schweeeet. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to win us the game 17-9.
Second game was against Brass Monkey, a team from the west coast of the USA. They were a very very very fun team to play. From the very first point they were high fiving us on the sideline, helping us to join in their time out cheers (something like a call and response chant which is quite funny and will be used by Whorebags and myself for months/years to come), and learning our names. They were lovely and despite our now trademark comeback streak they still won 15-10. But never a more fun game was had.
